Features
Parts are made of mica paper (muscovite or phlogopite quality) bonded together with a high performance resin. The material is submitted to pressure and heat for curing.
We supply all types of parts according to customers’ drawings or samples, both punched and machined.
Typical applications
Mica is an excellent material to be used as a support for heating elements in domestic appliances, hair dryers, toasters, etc and all kinds of electrical applications, especially those in which high temperatures are present and maintaining its mechanical and electrical properties is required.
It is also used in applications where insulation must take complex shapes, while high thermal and dielectric properties as well as a good bending strength are required: hot air fans, circuit breakers, transformers, etc. It is used as a protection or cover layer and as a separator or insulating sheet. Some applications take advantage of its spring action.
Muscovite quality is most commonly used where more mechanical strength is required, and phlogopite quality where more thermal strength is required.
